Description

Florida School of the Arts is back on the Palatka campus and continues its 2026-27 season of events on the main stage with "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."

Six awkward but endearing middle school students compete for the spelling championship of a lifetime in this fast-paced, heartwarming musical comedy. As they tackle impossibly difficult words, each speller reveals touching and hilarious stories about family, friendship, and growing up.

Complete with audience participation, quick-witted improvisation, and a charmingly eccentric group of adults running the bee, this Tony Award winning musical celebrates the ups and downs of adolescence with humor, heart, and catchy songs.

Smart, sweet, and charmingly unpredictable, Spelling Bee is a crowd-pleasing favorite that reminds us that winning isn’t everything but belonging just might be.
